You have not set the right password in the /etc/ppp/pap-secrets or /etc/ppp/chap-secrets. man pppd should provide the answers.


A more educative method is to enable debug in your /etc/ppp/options 
file bye uncommenting the line
# debug

and by adding this line to the file
kdebug 4

then on a terminal do tail -f /var/log/debug

then start your connection and observe the log.
