Kororaa is Free Software distributed under GPL.

And XGL is and X.org project.

I agree the non-availability of free drivers for 3d hardware acceleration
support. So it won't work without using propritory drivers.
Some of the teams already working on a Free driver

Here you are suggesting readers to try out proprietary software. If we are

I just wanted to give a link to the kororaa site. It again gives us another
example of the trap like java and flash did, it is better not to have a
software version that run on free OS but is proprietory. If there is a
requirement someone will write it. If free of cost versions are avialable
people easily compromise. It took so long to have a free java equivalent and
flash still in the making. It was my fault to miss these examples.

Again here is one common comment people make - It all depends on how far you
are ready to go, your bios is not free.

We have to use proprietory software untill a free alternative is available
like GNU project used unix for development in earlier stages.

One mistake we had with NITC event is that, at the end of the day when we
> ask people
> what free software - we get the answer "Xgl, 3D Desktop, DotGNU, Ruby, FUN
> ....". I am not

I agree completely.
