[ILUG-BOM] Need help/advice for GNU/Linux supported Mother Boards/Chipsets

Hi All,

Thanks to inputs from the G/LUGers and little search on the web, I
have zeroed on MSI - K8MM-V MoBo.

Just received the MoBo from the hardware vendor and got it wired.

I am able to boot Ubuntu 5.10 (AMD-64) Live CD and all critical
components (LAN, VGA, Audio) worked out of the box. SATA is not
detected. In fact, writing this mail from Ubuntu 5.10 Live CD.

Many devices are detected as unknown.

Now I will hunt and try other distros and see how things work. I will
keep you posted on my progress. Once, I have more details, I will post
it on the Wiki.

So far, MSI - K8MM-V seems promising and seems the right choice.
