Dear luggers,

I'am facing problems in starting the pivotal vxconfigd daemon on my box with RHEL Os and a compiled kernel 

The error is

[root at veritas root]# vxconfigd
VxVM vxconfigd ERROR V-5-1-7840 cannot open /dev/vx/config: No such device


whereas the device exists in /dev/vx/

Here are a few inputs ------>

[root at veritas root]# uname -a

Could anyone try atleast guessing if not finding the exact solution. Googling gives me a few solutions for the same error in solaris, says a few linked libs might be not in the proper path...but with linux it does not seem to be the case.
