Hey Kiran,

My friend Ameya had the same prob. n he sayz u gotta set the var 

LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/ora8/m01/app/oracle/product/8.1.6/lib/

where /ora8/m01/app/oracle/product/8.1.6/ is the ORACLE_HOME dir n then...

export LD_LIBRARY_PATH

Do this on the console n then try startin Apache.

BTW, why dont u try out POSTGRESQL :)

i was tryin to install php 4 with oracle support and so configured it with the "--with-oracle=DIR" where DIR=$ORACLE_HOME option.After installin php i tried to restart apache but it gave me the followin error 

Starting service httpd: syntax error in httpd.conf failed
