[ILUG-BOM] Pls suggest some lightweight desktop

I like GNOME and KDE but these are memory hungry desktops . Multitasking
becomes little difficult due to this . Following is output of free while 
running XMMS and Kmail The values are in MB

	total         used       *free*     shared    buffers     cached
Mem:       60            59          1            0            1            29
-/+ buffers/cache:     29        31
Swap:     156              1      155

Notice the drastically low value of free memory. The situation is pretty 
much the same with GNOME.

Please suggest some lightweight desktop environment which doesn't eat 
so much memory.
