Hi friends,

Has anyone configured BSNL EVDO on Ubuntu 8.10(amd64)? I facing some
difficulties. I have a Dell inspiron 1525 and installed Ubuntu 8.10(amd64)
on it. I bought this BSNL EVDO and struggling to get it configured.

Once my device is inserted, I see the following messages.
May 3 08:13:27 quanta kernel: [ 1690.284341] usb 4-2: new full speed USB
device using uhci_hcd and address 19
May 3 08:13:28 quanta kernel: [ 1690.540768] usb 4-2: new full speed USB
device using uhci_hcd and address 20
May 3 08:13:32 quanta kernel: [ 1692.554928] usb 4-2: new full speed USB
device using uhci_hcd and address 21
May 3 08:13:32 quanta kernel: [ 1692.652394] usb 4-2: configuration #1
chosen from 1 choice

However, I do not see a device file is assigned to it. The wvdialconf
doesn't see a modem device. I tried to install the driver downloaded from
ztemt.com. But, it get only a 32bit driver. I get an error if I forcefully
install.
sudo dpkg -i --force-architecture ztemtEVDO-1.1-8-i386-ubuntu804.deb

insmod: error inserting '/usr/local/bin/ztemtEVDO/ztemt.ko': -1 Invalid
module format
dpkg: error processing ztemtevdo (--install):

I didn't get much googling around. Has anyone configured this before on
64bit ubuntu?

Thanks,
-balaji
