Here are the minutes:

This time PLUG meeting took place on 9th March. 2002.  The meeting did
not take place
on 2nd March (i.e first Saturday) as decided because it was a holiday an
institute was
closed. The meeting was held at Symbiosis College.  Meeting started at
4.30 PM which was
conducted by Mr.Sudhanwa S Jogalekar.  The agenda of meeting was
formalization of PLUG.

Following are the minutes of meeting

1.) An electronic circuit controlled using parallel port was displayed
by Dexter, the
circuit involves programming in 'C' using gcc compiler under linux to
control various
equipments using parallel port.  queries can be sent to
gauravpt@yahoo.com

2.) Mr. Sudhanwan J, had invited Mr.Rajan who has been associated with
processes of going
through formalization of groups/societies/clubs etc, gave details of the
process involved
for the process. He proposed the make PLUG a trust.  For the trust
following
"objectives/activities" and  "funds of the organizations" has been
decided

   A)  Objectives/Activities

           Obj)   Education to society
           Act)   Funding projects/events
           Act)   Giving consultancy
           Act)   Awards for performance/achievements
           Act)   Procurement of Hardware/Software/Books
           Obj)    Promoting Linux+GNU
           Act)    Spreading literature using various media
           Obj)     Defending Free Software philosophy

   B) Funds of the organization

           1) Volunteer contributions
           2) Income through projects
           3) Income through awards
           4)  Training camps

These were the main objectives/activities discussed,  Mr.Rajan will give
further details
on the basis of these points.


3.)  Mr. Shekar gave a talk about "Traffic Shaping in Linux", which was
quite interesting
and explanatory.  Mr.Shekar will put up a small article on PLUG website
relating to the
same.

4.) Changing of PLUG's mailing lists email address from
plug-mail@plug.org.in  to
plug@plug.org.in was proposed by Mr.Shirish Bhagwat.  The point does not
seems to have
complete agreement amongst PLUG members and will be taken up in the next
meeting.

5.) The webmasters address should be changed to "webmasters@plug.org.in"
from
"webmaster@plug.org.in" was also proposed, this point also seems some
disagreement
amongst PLUG members and wull be taken up at next meeting.


The above are the main points which were taken up during the meeting.
The meeting officially finished at 6:30 PM.  Afterwards PLUG members
gathered at the canteen, were further discussions were held over cups of
tea and coffee.
