Ramakrishnan, just ask Atul Chitnis/Gopi Garg to remove the whole
GNU part from their computers and to reboot, let us see how Linux
sans GNU works. 

Let us repeat this exercise with GNU in and Apache/PostgreSQL out.
And he will understand what GNU means in GNU/Linux.

The plain truth is that GNU and Linux are complementary, one cant
survive without the other while all others are dependant on both of
these in a GNU/Linux system. Atul or Gopi cant create darkness by
closing their eyes just for the simple reason that others' eyes are 
still open.
