A delightful new book on GNU/Linux has just been published: "The Joy of
Linux: A Gourmet Guide to Open Source" by Michael Hall (editor of
LinuxToday) and Brian Proffit (of Internet.com). Great praise for RMS,
though they sheepishly admit caving in to popular usage in avoiding the
correct term "GNU/Linux"! Also has a very readable and informative chapter
called "I Don't Do Windows", which exposes MS' evil designs in strategy and
marketing, while also taking a jab at Linux "rebels". Wittily written, lots
of historical factoids and even installation tips and resources, plus funny
comics from Joy of Tech!
Local Indian edition now out. PrenticeHall/Eastern Economy Edition, around
Rs 295 or so.
BTW, no, PHI is not giving me a commission to boost sales -;)
Just that we need more evangelists like Hall and Proffit to win over more...
