Oh yes, you can use KDE 1.1.x from any GNU/Linux distributions. If you
want to use kde 2.xx.xx use Debian GNU/Linux 2.2.r0 + KDE from woody
with some tweeking.  It is heard that kofffice package (killustrator
specifically) is facing legal problem with Illustrator from a commercial
software vendor.


>suitable version of Linux :  Kindly note that Linux is an operating system and not a computing environment. One have to use GNU utilities to make Linux work.  One can use the same utilities on other os like FreeBSD, HURD or many other os confirming to POSSIX standards. Common versions of Linux used now a days are 2.0.36, 2.2.xx and the latest 2.4.XX.
