> One man's spam could be another man's "useful information".

Consider this: I start sending you loads of packets, everyday, by snail
mail, which has useful information, but you _don't_ want it. And yes,
the postage is not paid. Would you be happy in this case then ? I don't
think so. UCE is just the electronic form of the example I gave you.
Imagine, your inbox filled up with 10s of mails all selling DVDs' to
herbal viagra and adult sites. Out of these 10s of emails you receive,
you have the job to find out which one is really relevant to you.

If you don't want it, you don't get it. But if you get it when you don't
want it, it is UCE. Let GT CDROM have an opt in email list to receive
their offers/freebies, and what not. What I object to is, sending
commercial emails, when I have not opted for them. That is it. Also,
FYI, GT CDROM has suffered a major setback once due to their policies,
their domain was pulled down. Thanks to one of the most respected
sys/mail admins on LI.

One man's spam could be another man's "useful information" can surely be
useful, if you have opted to receive it, not otherwise.

Cheers,
