Guys at NCST, Bangalore are already working on this and have been at it for
at least three months now - their project is called vartalaap - and its
about have an indianised version of OpenOffice. The last time i talked to
one of the developers, they had mnaged to compile the wholeof Open Office
on their own and were getting down to understanding the code and
customising it...

IIT, Madras also has a similar project where they are trying to localise
the interface - i don't know what their approach is but they are also doing
something about it.... The NCST guys are pretty much ahead on this,
though..
