Swatantra is a conference focusing on Free and open Source 
technologies. Its the first of its kind event being organized 
in south India. The symposium will have food for thought for all 
genre of people may it be from the academic circles or the big 
time Industrial arena. 

    The symposium is being organized by the Department of Information
Technology, Vellore Institute of Technology ,Deemed University.  The
symposium will be held on 6th and 7th of February, 2005 and will be
divided into various sessions. 
                
   The event will also witness the inauguration of the Tamil Nadu
Chapter of the Free Software Foundation of India by Richard M. Stallman,
Founder GNU. RMS will deliver the keynote
on 6th Feb, 9.30 is the timing of his speech. Prof. Nagarjuna will 
be the chief guest and inaugurate the event.
