THAT'S WHAT the subtitle of an article in the latest issue of CHIP (Sept 2004)
-- the Indian edition -- promises to its readers. Quote:

"A word of caution though, before we find out how to
get these games working under Linux. To get fragging
in full glory, you will have to first configure your
graphics card to use all its 3D features in Linux.
3D and OpenGL are some technologies that these games
utilize to the maximum, in order to give the effects
that you love so much. Today it is possible to run
sophisticated 3D applications on a Linux system.
But for many popular cards there are no open-source
drivers available featuring appropriate OpenGL support...
Fortunately, the leading manufacturers offer their
own Linux drivers to be downloaded for free, be they
 	ATI or Nvidia..."

Article includes steps to work with Quake II, Quake III Arena, Unreal
Tournament, Unreal Tournament 2004.

Other content in this time's CHIP issue related to the FLOSS world of GNU/Linux
(not just the kernel!) includes:

COVER STORY: Windows vs Linux vs Mac
Which OS protects your PC best of all?
 	Some strange, pro-Windows results here.
But then, GNU/Linux doesn't advertise, does it?
Suse, given CHIP's German link, is tested
 	as the representative of GNU/Linux.

ON THE CD: Quake2 Linux binary.

Interesting article on non-IE browsers, on Page 90. But, if you go by the
boxes, you might end up thinking that Mozilla Firefox works only with Windows
XP/2000/98SE/ME and NT4.0! (The fine print below says Mozilla Firefox "provides
support forWindows, Linux and Mac".).
