The `TCE Linux Forum' was  started on 20-12-2003. The objective of the
forum  was to  advocate Free  software  and to  help fellow  GNU/Linux
Users. Mr. Bharathi S, of ILUG-Chennai delivered a talk  on Free Software
and the Linux localisation project  at the first meeting of the Forum,
on 20-12-2003. The  meeting was attended by a  crowd of 325 comprising
of students and teachers.  In  association with the meeting a demo was
organised at the  `UNIX &Paralled processing Lab, CSE  Dept, TCE'. The
demo  showcased  Office  utitilities, Network  utilities,  Programming
tools, gaming, etc.. 

The members of the `TCE Linux Forum' have been added to a mailing list
called the `GNU/Linux  Users Group OF TCE' (GLUGOT).  The mailing list
address is `glugot@freelists.org'. 

As  one of  the  activities  of the  `TCE  Linux Forum',  ILUG-Madurai
meetings  are  conducted at  the  TCE  campus.  The first  meeting  of
ILUG-Madurai was conducted on 24-01-2004 at Z0 Lecture Hall, CSE Dept,
TCE. Also, the GLUGOT meets  regularly on every second saturday. These
meetings mostly comprise of technical seminars and demos.
