MEDIA LAB ASIA. Empanelment of consultants and organisations for design, 
development, prototyping, system integration and test deployment of ICT systems 
in rural areas.

 	Media Lab Asia has been set up by the Ministry of
 	Communications and Information Technology, Government
 	of India to research, develop and deploy ICT
 	and other technologies for the benefit of commonman.

 	To successfully implement this programme, Media Lab Asia
 	intends to enter into project-based collaborations with
 	different solution providers in their areas of
 	expertise.

 	For this purpose, Media Lab Asia invites applications
 	for empanelment of consultants and organisations
 	who have interest, ideas, skills and experience
 	to participate by way of identification, research,
 	design, development, prototyping, system integration
 	and field deployment of ICT systems in rural areas.

* Broadband wireless communication technologies and products.
* Low cost access devices
* ICT for healthcare
   - Low cost & ICT integrated/enabled medical equipment for
     primary healthcare.
   - Healthcare information and management systems.
   - Telemedicine tools and devices
   - Field data collection devices, tools and software.
* ICT in education
   - Multimedia educational content development tools in local
     languages and English
   - Educational content in local languages and English
   - Virtual laboratory experiments, etc
* ICT tools to enhance livelihood
   - Rural e-commerce tools
   - Tools for rural interaction and information exchange
* Advanced multi-nodal interfaces and local languages
* Assistive devices and technologies for disabled.
