At least this was about the issue of warranties for free software. 
 Please read the whole thread.  The need for warranties in mission 
critical applications was being discussed.  My whole argument was that a 
warranty would not help, but instead, prudent verification of the output 
from a program, directly through our senses might assure quality and 
performance.  Even insurance cover may be an option.  Further, no 
warranties.

Philosophy is needed for clarity of thought and action.  The foundation 
for progress is found only in the philosophy.  Therefore philosophy is 
not vain.

issues at hand, and avoid personal remarks that might hurt others.
